The current ongoing invasion of Ukraine by Russia from the direct instruction of their President Vladimir Putin has left the rest of the world in some degree of shock. The issue however is more than just Russia claims of a military operation. Its Russia versus NATO, Its NATO versus history and it’s the history of man Versus his Spirit.
It seems to be somewhat of a deception by Vladimir Putin to call his invasion a military operation when he knows it’s more than that, his words choice is part of the deception to cover up his true motives. Ukraine is the second largest country in Europe and has remain neutral. In this case what gives Russia the right to invade another country then calls it a military operation. Would Russia stand by to know that Ukraine or any of its neighbors invade them calling it an operation. I don’t believe any nation would and without a doubt would put up a resistance. Russia mentioned due to the corruption in Ukraine and rebel forces as their reason, so they are only doing so to protect their people. Quite frankly nothing is wrong in trying to secure the safety of your people. However, something greater had to spark it all, that spark is Russia believe that NATO Military involvement in Ukraine is a treat to their Security. The countries of the world in general has always been on the edge when it comes to their security, so this comes as no surprise.
The issue however is due to the history of these countries, NATO wants to continue expand its military power and influence with its latest target being in Ukraine. Let’s say for instance if the Russia had done just that in countries such close to the United States or Britain, would they feel comfortable with such being conducted. I think the answer is in history and that’s a big fat No, especially US major focus on Venezuela. Not condoning Russia actions but Vladimir himself had said they ask NATO not to expand so close towards them and NATO responded to the treaty they have with Russia is that they never stipulated that they wouldn’t advance so close. Now, should Russia be comfortable with that, I don’t believe. However, at the same time Russia is not Ukraine and they have all right to do or be on any side of the table, and it seems due to recent activities they want to be apart of NATO. This is where the conflict is bigger than Ukraine because of the power they don’t have and if NATO had such a striking spark to this war, they are also responsible to resolving it, despite the notion that any country that gets involve, it can result in the spark of world war 3. However, this can be done in a civilize matter by coming to a mutral agreement between NATO and Russia. The only factor that would need to be consider is the side of the table in which Ukraine would like to be because not because Russia is afraid for their security means an entire country must do their will by remaining neutral.
There has been wars amongst men since the beginning of time. Overtime it has continue to grow into who can be the more dominate force. Each with their intention to be the strongest but truly they are all the same. Maybe it’s this common ground that we need to find to move pass this. Allow our spirit to be filled with compassion for each other.
